Fighting Human Trafficking in Newfoundland and Labrador

Thrive

Human trafficking remains one of Canada’s most underreported and misunderstood crimes. Newfoundland and Labrador faces its own unique challenges

Human trafficking remains one of Canada’s most underreported and misunderstood crimes. Newfoundland and Labrador faces its own unique challenges, from labour trafficking among migrants to sexual exploitation of young people. Thrive St. John’s Blue Door program is the only specialized service in the province offering safe housing, counselling, and job support to help survivors rebuild their lives.

Northpine’s investment in this initiative teams up Thrive’s program for hands-on recovery care. with the International Association of Human Trafficking Investigators (IAHTI) for cutting-edge training to spot victims faster, and #NotInMyCity (#NIMC) to raise awareness in airports, hotels, and schools. Together, they're training frontline workers, building cross-province collaboration, and creating a network across the province, from St. John’s to remote communities.

Northpine Foundation is proud to invest in this work, empowering detection, support, and prevention, to break cycles of exploitation and build safer futures for everyone in Newfoundland and Labrador.
