Expanding Employment Pathways for Refugees in Ontario

Cube-tech

CUBE TECH’s Path 2 Purpose program will help refugees in Ontario move into jobs in construction, prefabricated housing, manufacturing, installation, and related skilled trades.

Northpine Foundation has invested in CUBE TECH’s Path 2 Purpose program to help refugees in Ontario move into jobs in construction, prefabricated housing, manufacturing, installation, and related skilled trades. The program responds to labour shortages across housing and infrastructure while creating a practical pathway for refugees who face challenges like limited Canadian experience, language skills, and professional networks.

Building on a previous Northpine-funded cohort that met its employment goals, the expanded program combines hands-on technical training, workplace readiness, language and communication support, mentorship, and employer engagement. Participants train in a real production environment and progress through placements, shadowing, and direct hiring opportunities with CUBE Building Systems and external employers.

The initiative aims to create a stronger, more reliable route from training to employment, with post-placement support to improve retention, wage growth, and career progression. It also seeks to build a repeatable workforce model that can support both refugee economic integration and Ontario’s housing and infrastructure needs.
