Supporting Refugee Employment in Rural Manitoba

regional connections

This program will provide refugees with individualized employment planning, workplace language training, job-search coaching, and supported work experience.

Northpine Foundation has invested in Regional Connections’ REDI program to help refugees in the Pembina Valley region of Manitoba land work with into local employers.
The program was designed to respond to a common rural challenge, jobs are available, but many refugees need support with language, workplace expectations, digital skills, transportation, and childcare before they can compete for them.

This initiative will provide individualized employment planning, workplace language training, job-search coaching, and supported work experience over two years. It builds on Regional Connections’ existing employment services and settlement network, with the aim of helping refugees secure employment more quickly and sustainably, while proving out a more targeted pathway into the local labour market.
